Somnia ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a dream journaling application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect

- Dream entries (titles, descriptions, moods, tags, lucid dream status)
- App preferences and settings (e.g., PIN/lock preferences)

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Storage
Your dream entries and app data are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a centralized database of your dreams. If you delete the app, your data may be permanently lost unless you have backed up your device.

5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) — Important Disclosure
Somnia uses AI to generate dream interpretations and follow-up analysis.
By using the AI features of this App, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- No Professional Advice. AI-generated interpretations are produced by a machine learning model. They do not constitute medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, or any other form of professional advice. They are for entertainment and personal reflection purposes only.
- No Accuracy Guarantee. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or entirely fabricated. We make no representation or warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any AI-generated content.
- No Therapeutic Relationship. Use of the AI interpretation feature does not create a therapist-patient, doctor-patient, or any professional-client relationship between you and Somnia or its developers.
- Data Transmission. When you request an AI interpretation, your dream text (title, description, mood, and tags) is transmitted to a third-party AI service provider for processing. We do not control how the AI provider processes or retains this data. Review the AI provider's own privacy policy for details.
- Sensitive Content. Dreams may contain deeply personal, distressing, or sensitive material. You submit this content at your own risk. We are not responsible for any emotional distress caused by AI-generated responses.
- Not a Substitute for Professional Help. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, suicidal thoughts, or emotional distress, stop using this app and contact a licensed mental health professional or crisis service immediately. The App may display crisis resources when sensitive content is detected, but this is not a substitute for professional intervention.
6. Children's Privacy
Somnia is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
7. Security
We implement reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
